SATURDAY

Hidden oases in the sunny southwest

We take the minibus to the small fishing village of St. Elm. From there we hike uphill above the cliffs through a fragrant pine forest for about an hour easily and comfortably. We always expect wonderful views of the nature reserve of the Dragonera dragon island and the wide turquoise blue sea. Finally, we reach the old, fortified tower of Cala en Basset, which invites us to linger. After a short break we walk uphill on an ancient cart path into the backland. Old arable land and mixed forests now characterize our hiking trail, which also rewards us with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and the picturesque village of S'Arracó.

At the “Pas Vermell” we enjoy our local picnic with a wonderful view. Well strengthened, we hike alternately on narrow paths and on wide cart tracks downhill towards the coast. Breathtaking sea panoramas and views of the dreamy fishing village accompany us until we reach picturesque St. Elm. After a leisurely coffee break, we take the minibus back to Port de Sóller.
