Only for real mountaineers:The Puig Major -The roof of Mallorca

We take the minibus to the foot of the highest mountain on the island, the Puig Major. A forest path leads us comfortably uphill through a mixed forest over the private Finca Monàber to the Coll de Bini in the Finca Bini with wonderful panoramas of the west coast. Shortly after the saddle it goes steeply uphill on a narrow footpath through cutting grass and past scree fields. And more and more steeply up on a rocky mountain slope to the Ses Camamiles plateau. We then continue along the southernmost mountain edge, with breathtaking views of the Sóller valley. Here we reach the key point that leads us to the Penyal de Migdia summit (1382m). A grandiose panoramic view of the entire island. We climb on an exposed ridge towards La Reina -spitze (1398m). This is followed by a steep, rocky and stony descent from the ridge to the edge of the restricted military area.

Here we have earned a local picnic in the open air, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. An old, stony donkey path leads us downhill in serpentines. We walk past several former snow pits back into the mixed forest and to the starting point. The return journey takes place by minibus to Port de Sóller.

Very difficult climbing hike - not for the faint of heart! Your prerequisite for this is stamina, good physical condition, surefootedness, a head for heights and mobility!
