MONDAY

The wild and romantic paradise
at the north cape of Mallorca

We take a minibus for a good hour to the famous Cape Formentor. We are accompanied by magnificent views of the vast sea and the rugged cliffs. Return to the starting point. An old mule track first leads us uphill to Coll de la Creu. In good weather, an optional stony, steep and rocky ascent and descent to the mountain peak of El Fumat (335 m). We enjoy a gigantic panoramic view even as far as the neighbouring island of Menorca. We then hike along the old ‘gas bottle transport’ donkey path, sometimes downhill, sometimes uphill in serpentines with beautiful views of the Serra de Tramuntana and the bay of Pollença to the natural pebble beach of Cala Murta. Finally, an impressive coastal path leads us to the Es Castellet viewpoint.

We then enjoy a local picnic in the open air. Full and happy, we follow a comfortable gravel path uphill through a mixed forest to the donkey finca Cala Murta. A short walk downhill and then steeply uphill on a mountain path above the turquoise-coloured bay of Cala Figuera rounds off today's hike, which is sure to be unforgettable.
