Orange scent and village romance in Fornalutx with private finca lunch
A short ride in the minibus takes us to the foot of the highest mountain on the island, the Puig Major 1445 m, and we start past imposing rock faces. We hike exclusively over a private finca area downhill through beautiful holm oak forests and well-tended olive groves. We enjoy wonderful views of the famous mountain village Fornalutx, the Mediterranean Sea and the Tramuntana Mountains. The highlight of the hike awaits us afterwards. We are spoiled with culinary delights. There is a hearty, rustic, local lunch on a private finca. It is idyllically located in an orange plantation and you don't want to leave. After this nice lunch we go on an interesting tour through the picturesque place. It then continues mainly downhill over the settlement of Binibassí past lemon plantations to the pretty town of the Golden Valley, to Sóller. The return journey takes place in proper style, with the historic tram back to the port in Port de Sóller.
