The sacred table mountain of Esporles
Drive to Sa Granja in Esporles. Short descent on the GR 221 long-distance hiking trail. We continue on trails uphill through picturesque olive groves, along the mountain slope. Beautiful views of the high valley of Superna and the surrounding mountains await us. Finally we reach the famous holm oak forest. An old cart path leads us steeply uphill to the enchanted, old hermitage of Maristela. On the plateau of Table Mountain we enjoy spectacular views of the entire island with its villages and the Bay of Palma.
Local outdoor vespers. Accompanied by great panoramas of the Esporles valley, we hike downhill to the historic Jesus statue. Afterwards we finally reach the local mountain village of Esporles on scree paths and secret paths. Drinking break and drive back to Port de Sóller.
