Wonderfully rural! Enchanted castle ruins in the authentic hinterland

The unknown Mallorca awaits you! We drive into the interior of the island to the idyllic village of Alaró.

Here we start our hike on the old connecting path and through gnarled olive groves to the remote but picturesque mountain village of Orient. The trail continues steeply uphill, sometimes on rocky paths. Via a steep hunting trail that leads through a mystical mixed forest, we reach the famous Finca Es Verger. From there, we continue on an old cart track to the Pla des Pouet saddle. Now we have to negotiate a reconstructed donkey path that takes us up to the wonderful and, above all, wildly romantic castle ruins of Alaró.

Here we not only enjoy our delicious local snack at a cosy mountain hut, but also breathtaking panoramic views of the Mallorcan plain and its quaint villages, pretty towns and the surrounding mountains. Further incredible panoramas over terraced fields and almond plantations await us on our long and stony descent along an old pilgrimage route back to Alaró. After a short coffee break in the village, we drive back to Port de Sóller.
